Oakwood University is a private, historically black college affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is located in Huntsville, Alabama. The university is unique because it is the only HBCU owned and run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Oakwood is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It also receives approval from the Department of Education of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists through the Adventist Accrediting Association. The school offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs.
