Overview
Huntingdon College is a private Methodist school located in Montgomery, Alabama. It started in 1854 as a women's college. The Alabama State Legislature and Governor John A. Winston officially chartered the school on February 2, 1854. At first, it was called Tuskegee Female College. Andrew Adgate Lipscomb was its first president. He focused on making the college a place for teaching students, not for doing research.
